Talk: Dr. Tamara Albertini will offer a richly illustrated lecture on Raphael (Raffaello Sanzio, 1483-1520) in commemoration of his death's 500th anniversary. The presentation will explore well-known masterpieces like “The School of Athens,” comment on less-known work as the “Portrait of a Young Man” lost in WWII, and end with newly discovered frescoes unveiled in the Vatican Museums earlier this year. Presenter: Dr. Tamara Albertini is a Swiss-American Professor and Chair of Philosophy at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa, specializing in Renaissance and Islamic thought. Dr. Albertini has a Lic.phil. from the University of Basel (Switzerland) and a Dr.phil. from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich (Germany). She is a Fulbright scholar and the recipient of numerous national and international awards.
