The Friends of Italy Society of Hawaii is pleased to launch our first book club, il Caffe’ Letterario! Every other month we will choose a best seller by an Italian author, easily available in both Italian and English in the US.

OCTOBER BOOK:
Under the patronage of the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco, the first reading will be La Vita Bugiarda degli Adulti (The Lying Life of Adults) by Elena Ferrante. The Lying Life of Adults is a New York Times and National Indie bestseller, soon to be a Netflix Original Series. Elena Ferrante is the New York Times best-selling author of My Brilliant Friend and The Lost Daughter, also named one of 2016’s most influential people by TIME Magazine and frequently touted as a future Nobel Prize-winner.

You can find the book in both Italian and English at the Pino Bookshop with a 15% discount to book club members (register to the Caffe’ Letterario to receive directions on how to secure the discount code).

VIRTUAL READING CIRCLES:

• In Italian: Wednesday, November 4th at 6:30-8:00pm (PST) by the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco. Please register here.

Registered guests will receive a unique link prior to class. Please setup your Zoom and familiarize with its features. You can review its short video tutorials (e.g., join a meeting, configuring audio/video, meeting controls, more topics) or full training (e.g., Zoom for education).
