Dr. Vera Zambonelli will talk about her island of origin (Sicilia) and the island she lives in (Oahu), and how film has informed her journey from one to the other. Dr. Zambonelli is the Founder and Executive Director of Hawai‘i Women in Filmmaking. She is also the producer of Reel Wahine of Hawai'I, showcased at the 2018 Hawaii International Film Festival and at the 2019 Honolulu Biennial among other venues. The film is a collaboration between young women graduates of Hawai'i Women in Filmmaking's programs and a veteran team of filmmakers, eager to share their experience and expertise.
